Unfortunately, they’re out there, and some of them are so slick that they blend right in with legitimate work from home opportunities.

The Better Business Bureau (BBB) has, for over a century, helped people decide whether a company is one they want to buy from or work with.

The BBB gives consumers reviews from real customers and employees and a rating based on the company’s ability and desire to resolve any issues, length of time in business, and other criteria.

Using the BBB to find your next work at home job can help you weed out the fakes and frauds, which is why I put together this helpful list of BBB accredited businesses that offer remote work.

The Importance of BBB Accreditation

Getting BBB approved isn’t a requirement for any business, but it can help companies prove themselves as more trustworthy to consumers.

Most people visit the BBB to check out ratings of companies and see what reviewers have to say about them, especially if it’s a company they’ve never heard about or worked with before.

Although there are tons of excellent companies out there that aren’t BBB accredited, the accreditation shows that a company wants to make a great impression on consumers.

To become accredited, a company must show that it has a strong desire to make things right with its customers by responding to complaints and attempting to resolve them as quickly and fairly as possible.

Companies in the U.S. and Canada that want to be accredited also need to meet specific requirements set by the BBB and apply for the accreditation.

In other words, they need to put some work in that shows they’re serious about their reputation.

Getting work from a BBB work from home accredited business can give you more peace of mind that the company has your best interest at heart and isn’t just another scam.

A few of the jobs on this list aren’t accredited, but still have an A- rating or higher. What does that mean?

A non-accredited business can still get rated by the BBB based on its length of time in business and its handling of complaints.

If a company takes steps of good faith to resolve issues and doesn’t participate in scammy practices, the BBB will give it a high rating, which is why I’ve included some of those here too (and because they also have awesome reviews elsewhere online!).
