Takings surveys from home can provide extra money if you enjoy doing them and you sign up with the right companies.  Before you sign up for any survey company, remember these tips:

Survey Tips to Remember:

  • Set up that dedicated email for surveys.
  • Never pay to receive emails from a company.
  • Be prepared to spend a lot of time. If you don’t find survey fun, you probably won’t want to do this.
  • Remember there is always the risk you will screen out.
  • Enjoy yourself making fairly easy money!

OneOpinion is a survey company that is run by Critical Mix.  While OneOpinion is not listed by the better business bureau, Critical mix is, and it has an A+ rating.

This is a good sign, but it isn’t everything.

Who Can Join?

They accept panelists from the United States, as well as the United Kingdom and Canada.  That is all right now.

They do allow multiple accounts from the same household also, which is different from most “get paid to” type companies.

They also accept panelist that are as young as 13 with parental consent, so this is a potential opportunity for teenagers that want to make some extra money.

Before you sign up, be sure to follow them on social media.  They sometimes post special offers, and you can get a feel for what others that have worked for them have to say.

How do I Take Surveys for OneOpinion?

Start here. You will have to give some standard personal contact information, but not to worry.  They keep your information quiet.

Even so, it is always a good idea to have a separate email address specifically designated for signing up with survey companies.

Not only will it keep spam out of your main account, but it will help you keep your survey related emails organized as well.

What Happens After I Create an Account?

Once you sign up, you will receive a confirmation email.  Be certain to do what it says.  You have to confirm before you begin receiving surveys.

Once you confirm you will get a screening questionnaire.  It takes some time to fill out, but it is designed to help you waste less time screening out of surveys later.

If you answer truthfully, you will be better matched to surveys in the future, theoretically.

If you mark an answer dishonestly and it is obvious, your account will be suspended for a bit. Some sources say a day.

Why So Much Security?

They are serious about fraud and security for you and their customers, so they do everything possible to ensure they get the best information possible.

Then Come the Surveys

They have a large volume of surveys so you could get a lot in a day.  They vary in time commitment, with most taking 30 minutes or less.  Generally, they pay from $1 to $5, but some special ones pay more, even up to $15.

Also, each survey comes with a pre-survey as an extra security measure.  Despite steps taken to ensure you are sent surveys you are eligible for, it is still possible to screen out.

If you are disqualified for whatever reason, you will receive no points.

How Do You Get Paid?

OneOpinion pays on a points system.  You earn so many points for each survey completed.  The points earned per survey vary, and 1,000 points equals $1.

There is a fairly high minimum points balance required for cash out.  You have to have 25,000 points or $25 accumulated to cash out.

Once you have at least 25,000 points, you can trade it for rewards such as gift cards.  There also virtual gift card options that you can receive instantly.

Instead of waiting for a physical card in the mail, you will be emailed a code to use online.  These rewards do require an extra verification step to ensure you are who you say you are before they send the code.

Recently an option was added to cash out points directly to PayPal, which is great if you aren’t in to gift cards and just want the money.

Are There other Ways to Earn Points?

OneOpinion does offer some product testing opportunities. They are super easy, but you have to send the product back according to some sources.

Try the product, fill out a survey based on your experience, send it back if necessary, and collect the points.  It’s that easy.

More about Points

There is no waiting period for points to post to your account.  If you do not see your points, you can open a support ticket to find out what the problem is.

Points can accumulate for as long as you want, but if you are inactive for 6 months, your account will be deactivated and your points will be forfeited.

If you need to take a break, be sure to take at least a survey or two every few months to keep active status, so you don’t lose your points.

What about Support?

OneOpinion has 24/7 customer service that seems to be reliable and helpful.  They also have the One Rewards Perks program in place to show appreciation for loyalty.  It allows for occasional faster points earnings.

What if Don’t Want to Receive any more Surveys?

Unsubscribe at any time.  You may still get surveys for a few days if they are preset by the system, but they will stop after that.

Be sure to cash out first if you meet the 25,000 point minimum, because you will lose them once you unsubscribe.

It is definitely a legit survey company that offers a real opportunity to get paid.  No one is going to make a living doing it, but it isn’t a scam.

It’s not in the Top 5 for a couple of reasons.  For one, they only accept panelists from the U.S., U.K., and Canada.  This means a huge population is left out in the cold.

Also, the payout threshold is kind of high, meaning it could take a while to reach.  Some people may get frustrated and stop.

They do have great rewards, however, and they actually send them.  It is a good way to make some fun pocket change. It is free to sign, so there is no harm in giving it a shot.
