Once Facebook and other social media channels started gaining in popularity, online forums died down.

People started to take to Facebook groups, Twitter posts, or even blogging, to share their views and participate in discussions with other internet users.

But there are still popular online forums on the web.

Believe it or not, they haven’t completely gone away. Some people still prefer to use them to engage in active, in-depth discussions with like-minded people who share their hobbies and interests.

In an effort to keep forums active with plenty of opportunities for discussions, some forums pay people to participate in them!

This type of work isn’t something you normally hear about even if you’re well-versed in ways to make money online, so I thought it would be a good idea to create this post about it.

If you enjoy participating in discussions online, or writing of any form, then this money-making idea could be a good one for you!

How to Get Paid to Post Comments on Forums

When it comes to ways to earn money online, forums may not pay the most, but they do offer a fun, out-of-the-ordinary way to do it.

I suggest trying this out if you fit the following criteria:

  • You want a flexible way to make money online in your spare time
  • You thoroughly enjoy writing and brainstorming new topics
  • You’ve participated in message boards before and at least somewhat know how they work
  • You like keeping discussions moving
  • You’re not afraid of controversy (some topics – politics, parenting, religion, etc. – can get heated)

If you can check all the above points, then visit the following forums and sites for paid posting opportunities.

Find Paying Forums and Opportunities

PaidForumPosting.com

PaidForumPosting is a site that’s dedicated to helping posters, and paid forums find each other.

The company’s been around since 2005 and still holds strong as a go-to place to find paid forum posting work.

You can set yourself up with an account here, but you’ll have to send in a writer application first. The site specifically looks for people who are 18 or older, have excellent English skills, and already have an active account on its own forums.

You’ll need to have at least 7 posts there under your belt, and they should showcase your writing ability and your ability to create well thought-out and engaging posts.

Once you’ve made it to the writer’s pool, you’ll have opportunities to match with the company’s clients who might enlist you to help out with their own forums.

Think of it like a matchmaking service for forum posters!

The great thing about this site is that it also has opportunities for you to get paid to post in groups – like on Facebook or LinkedIn, for example – so there are more plentiful jobs available than there would be for just posting on forums.

Professional Forum Posters

This site is a message board in itself dedicated to helping people find this kind of work or excel at their current paid jobs.

Once you’re registered and create 10 posts, you can become a paid writer for Professional Forum Posters.

As with PaidForumPosting.com, this means that you can match with the company’s clients who offer paid forum posting opportunities, so the pay may differ depending on the client.

The Forum Wheel

The Forum Wheel is another matchmaking service for forum posters and paid forums.

Forum owners can register for free to find people like you who want to get paid to post on forums. They get to choose who they work with and the prices to pay you.

To apply to be a writer, you’ll need to fill out an application on the website, but the requirements aren’t anything crazy.

You’ll need to have excellent English skills, of course, but there’s no minimum age requirement. However, some clients may have their own restrictions as to how old you can be.

You’ll earn credits for the work you do, which accumulate in your account at The Forum Wheel. Turn those credits in for cash whenever you want!

Upwork

Upwork is a marketplace for freelancers to find work in a variety of areas. Posting on forums is one of those areas!

There isn’t a dedicated category for this, so you’re better off searching for “paid forum posting” or similar keywords to find the jobs.

When you find them, you’ll need to apply using your Connects, which are kind of like tickets you can use for applications. Don’t worry – you get 60 free ones every month, and most gigs only require 2.

The client will let you know if they have any questions or are ready to get started with you.

Just remember that Upwork does take fees from your pay – a whopping 20% until you’ve earned enough with that client to have a lower fee.

Fiverr

Fiverr is similar to Upwork but puts you in more control of your earnings.

On this site, you create your own gigs, so you can make one stating that you want to get paid to post on message board.

You can make a starting price of $5 which can cover a certain number of posts, and then create add-on packages that boost the price for more work.

The more work you do and with great reviews, the easier it’ll be to have people on Fiverr come to you for this type of work!

Forums That Pay

Postloop

Postloop is a place where all types of writers can get matched with opportunities for them, including those who want to write on message boards for cash.

The site takes a 20% cut of whatever the client pays, but writers benefit from getting quick payments to PayPal whenever they want (you can even get them daily!).

The site accepts writers from any country, but they must have excellent English skills.

You’ll get paid in points instead of cash, but those points convert to cash.

If you have a high rating from forum or website owners, you’ll be eligible for bonus points, so always do your best work!

MyLot

MyLot is a site that allows its members to post in its discussion forums, write their own blogs, and participate in other social activities for cash.

The more you participate, the more you can earn.

Anything from responding to a blog or starting a new discussion can get you points, or you can complete offers from advertisers for more.

You’ll need at least $5 to be eligible for payment. All payments are paid out on or around the 15th of the month for the previous month’s earnings, and they’ll go directly to your PayPal account.

ExtraDime

ExtraDime is a unique forum that shares various ways to save money by shopping online through things like coupons, promotion codes, special website deals, and cash back shopping.

Users can contribute to the forum by posting their own deals they find, which pays up to $0.15 for each new thread.

You’ll also get $0.50 just for becoming a member, and $0.50 for each friend you refer to the message board.

Once you get $5 in your account, you can redeem your earnings with PayPal.

It’s the only payment method available, so only people who have an active PayPal account can use this forum.

ForumCoin

ForumCoin is a message board that focuses mostly on internet and technology topics, but there’s also a general topic forum where members can discuss anything.

Members will get ForumCoin – a digital currency – for participating.

Post new threads, reply to others, and participate as much as you can to rack up ForumCoin.

You can redeem your earnings for various things like PayPal cash, website hosting, graphic design or content for a website, Bitcoin, or even tarot card readings!

Forum For U

FFUC is the currency that Forum For U pays its members to participate in discussions.

Most topics on the site are internet-related, so marketing, website building, and design are all popular here.

A minimum of 100 characters in a thread or post is required to make money off that post.

Additionally, members can make $10 or more by posting in-depth tutorials or helpful guides about topics that forum members would be interested in.

These guides need to be at least 450 words, but lengthier ones can get paid up to $100!

Use your FFUC to buy services or products from other members, or you can exchange it for real cash.

Fusion Cash Forum

Fusion Cash is a popular GPT site that offers something other reward sites don’t: The chance to make money by creating and replying to threads on its message board.

In an effort to keep the place active, Fusion Cash offers $3 extra every month to people who make at least 30 posts in the forums.

Unfortunately, there’s no extra bonuses for posting more than the 30, so you may not want to overdo it and stay close to the 30-post minimum.

You need $25 to cash out with Fusion Cash, but $15 of that needs to come from offers, so be sure to participate in the other areas of the site too!

Digital Money Talk

This message board is all about digital currency, and you can even make digital currency for posting here!

Members are limited to 10 new thread creations a day so that the boards don’t get overloaded with spammy content from people just looking to make money.

Different forums will pay members different amounts, too, but you can check the full guidelines here.

100 points equals $1, and you can choose from PayPal, Payza, Bitcoin, and Payoneer.
