I am not proud of spending way too much on Facebook, but it’s true—I’m guilty of it.

I have recently learned that all that time does not need to be wasted. I can be on Facebook and actually use it to make money! Yes, I’m serious.

I have done some research and compiled 20 different ways to make money on Facebook. If you are going to be on Facebook anyway, why not?

1. Find Freelance Work

What is your skill set? Are you a writer, web designer, or virtual assistant? Personally, I have found quite a bit of freelance writing work on Facebook in groups that are designed for sharing web-based work.

Just search “find freelance work” on Facebook, and see what you find. Join groups that are of interest to you where you can find work that you are qualified for.

How Much Can You Make?

There is no limit to how much you can make when you are a freelancer. Set your goals high and then work for them, and you will be amazed at the opportunities.

In the meantime, check out this freelancing article. It has plenty of good information about getting started.

2. Join a Facebook Garage Sale Group

First of all, make sure that you download the Facebook app on your phone if you don’t have it already. This way you can easily get to Facebook without logging onto a computer.

Facebook garage sale groups are my favorite places online to make money. The Facebook online garage sale. In fact, just last month I sold a bunch of homemade crafts on there.

Here’s how to get started: Search Facebook for local garage sales in your area, and then ask to join them.

How Much Can You Make?

Well, it depends on what you are selling and how much you are charging. You can go through your house and collect all the items you no longer want or need and sell them on Facebook’s online garage sale.

You could also do like I did and sell homemade stuff—like crafts.

This woman made $600 selling decor, furniture, baby items and flooring in Facebook garage sale groups.

3. Use Facebook Garage Sales as a Business

Do you like to collect things? Do you like to go to flea markets and garage sales and buy unique items for cheap? It can be a thrilling hobby, and it can turn into full-time work.

Buying yard sale items and reselling them on Facebook can turn a pretty profit; you just have to devote the time and energy to this hobby.

I personally know several people who do this full time, and they make a full-time income! They are always on the lookout for unique or popular items to resell.

How Much Can You Make?

As I stated earlier, you can make however much you put your mind to making. Set goals, and then work hard to achieve them.

When it comes to buying and reselling, you have to be consistent and build your business. When you do this, you will see the positive outcomes.

4. Resell Items to Amazon

There are people who buy items off Facebook’s garage sales and then resell them on Amazon.

Many people don’t even know that selling items on Amazon is an option.

How Much Can You Make?

Again, that depends on you and how much you are willing to invest, as well as how much time and energy you want to put into this hobby. Some people make buying and reselling a full-time job.

5. Become a Social Media Manager

Do you understand the ins and outs of social media? Do you enjoy personalizing social media pages? If so, becoming a social media manager might be up your alley.

Social media managers design each social media post for various businesses, scheduling and monitoring them each day.

In other words, they get paid to play on Facebook!

How Much Can You Make?

If you are a fulltime social media manager, you can expect to make a full time salary. Some nonprofits can pay $35,000 to $50,000 for a social media manager. However, some corporate positions may offer more than $65,000.

6. Start Your Own Facebook Auction Group

Some people make money off Facebook by finding Facebook auction groups, where they sell items that they have bought at yard sales and thrift stores. This can be a fun, lucrative way to make money on Facebook.

Some people will buy used furniture, and then refurnish it, increasing its value, so they can sell it and make a good profit.

How Much Can You Make?

You can make as much as you want from repurposing items that you buy for cheap and selling them for a profit. Some people do this full time, and they make a full time income.

7. Promote a Brand or Product You Love

Is there a brand or product that you are passionate about, and you want to start selling it?

Many people become direct sales consultants for products like jewelry, cosmetics, cleaning products, and weight-loss programs. Personally, I have benefited from health and weight loss products, and I began selling them a few months ago. I have made most of my sales from Facebook.

How Much Can You Make?

This will depend on what you are selling, how much you sell, and if you have other direct sales consultants under you. Your earnings could include discounted products, cash, and more. Some people do really well in direct sales marketing and make it a full-time job.

Just like the other ways to make money on Facebook, the amount you make will depend on the effort and time you put into your business.

8. Run Live Direct Sales Events

Some direct sales consultants host live Facebook events to promote their products. You have probably seen these on Facebook, or maybe you have even gone to a few. Running a live direct sales event can be convenient and profitable. Your “guests” do not have to leave their homes; they can simply click on the Facebook invitation and “attend” the event at the allotted time.

How exactly does a live direct sales event work? During the event, the consultant posts pictures and information about the products that are being sold. The people attending have the opportunity to interact and ask questions. It’s a virtual meeting.

For incentives, the consultant will typically offer prizes and giveaways to keep the “guests” engaged.

How Much Can You Make?

Again, how much you make will depend on what you are selling, how many people are buying what you sell, and if you have consultants under you. I know people who make $500 to $1000 a month running these types of live events. I am sure you could even make more than that if you put the time and energy into it.

9. Promote new blog posts which drive traffic to your website

If you have a blog or a business page, post the links on Facebook whenever you can. Why? When your friends and followers click on your link, they will be sent to your website and you can start making money.

When you set up your website, you can display ads, affiliate offers, email marketing, etc. When people click on these ads and offers, you will start earning money.

How Much Can You Make?

This will depend, of course on how many ads and offers you display on your website. Some well-known blogs and businesses make several thousand dollars a month this way.

10. Earn Friend Referral Bonuses

Word of mouth recommendations are the best forms of advertising. If your friends trust you, then they trust what you will tell them. That is why companies offer friend referral incentives.

Ebates is a good company that offers cash back on purchases online. It also offers hefty incentives if you share with your friends. Here’s where Facebook comes in: You can send email invites or click the social media share buttons in your account to share your referral link. If your friends sign up through your referral link, you will earn a cashback bonus!

How Much Can You Make?

How much you make will depend on how many people you refer to Ebates and what they buy. You will get a percentage of what they buy through Ebates. Sometimes Ebates will run a promotion for referring friends. For example, right now through the end of March, you can earn $25 per referral.

11. Turn in Facebook Hackers

You know the scenario. You get a duplicate friend request from one of your friends on Facebook. If that isn’t fishy enough, you then get a message from him/her. Within the next few minutes, your friend posts a status about not requesting friend requests from him/her because their account has been hacked.

Next time you notice a Facebook account has been hacked, you might get paid to report it.

12. Start a Group and Promote Affiliate Links

If you have a specific interest (parenting, blogging, books, health, etc), you could start a Facebook group and invite people who may be interested. Design your group with a specific mission in mind.

If your group expands, and you share relevant products with an affiliate link, you can earn a percentage from each transaction. This is a great way to earn extra money from doing something you enjoy on Facebook.

How Much Can You Make?

Just with Amazon’s affiliate program, you can earn 4% to 8.5% of each transaction, depending on how many people buy items through your links.

However, there are other affiliate options where you can make even more money.

13. Refer Facebook Friends to Swagbucks

As you probably know, there are a lot of survey sites online where you can earn money for giving your opinion. You can use Facebook to earn even more money.

Swagbucks (review) is a membership site that pays you to take online surveys, use its search engine, shop online, and refer friends and family.

The cool thing about Swagbucks is that when you refer someone, and they sign up, you can make 10% of whatever that person earns on Swagbucks. As you can see, this can really add up, and you can end up making some good money just for referring others to Swagbucks.

What better way to advertise Swagbucks than on Facebook? Facebook is probably your biggest platform, so you should utilize that to your advantage.

How Much Can You Make?

Swagbucks offers compensation in Paypal cash or gift cards. What you earn from Swagbucks will depend on how much effort you put into promoting it. The average person can earn anywhere from $25 to $100 a month from Swagbucks, and even more if you put a lot of effort into earning.

 14. Host a Fundraiser

Have you seen your Facebook friends raising money for a cause? Are you passionate about a nonprofit or personal cause? While you won’t personally profit from this, you can still help raise money for a non-profit organization or a personal cause.

For example, Crowdfunding has become a way to raise money for people who need help financially.

On Facebook, you could create a fundraiser for any of these causes:

  • Health and medical
  • Personal financial
  • Crisis Relief
  • Education
  • International
  • Sports

There are lots of causes that people are willing to support. They just may not know where to look. This is a way you can raise money and help others at the same time.

15. Enter Facebook Contests or Giveaways

Want to make money from Facebook likes? If you are on Facebook frequently, you have certainly seen various Facebook contents or giveaways. These contests are usually easy to enter and require you to do something simple like share a page or “like” a post.

How Much Can You Make?

How much you make from Facebook contests or giveaways will depend on the prizes offered. Typically prizes will be Paypal cash or gift cards. If you frequently enter and participate in contests and giveaways, you could be earning several hundred dollars a month.

16. Start Your Own Business

Do you have a specific type of item, like crafts or jewelry for example, that you want to sell? You should start your own business and advertise on Facebook.

I personally did this last Winter. I started making mason jar crafts and promoted my business on Facebook. I was amazed at the customers I attained through advertising my homemade crafts.

Here’s what you can do: create a business page with a catchy title and post pictures of the items you want to sell.

Gain more members by adding your friends and having your friends add interested people. The more people who see your items for sale, the more customers you will get.

How Much Can You Make?

This will, of course, depend on what you are selling and how many people are buying from you. Personally, I made several hundred dollars a month selling my mason jar crafts.

17. Become a Brand Ambassador

Have you heard of brand ambassadorship? All it means is promoting products and services you love.

Basically, the company sponsors you to advertise their products and services.

As you know, Facebook is probably the easiest way to reach a large audience quickly and efficiently.

Companies that offer brand ambassador opportunities are here on list from Tiffany’s Reviews.

How Much Can You Make?

This will depend on what brands you advertise. Some people report to making over $600 a week on being a brand ambassador. This opportunity is definitely worth looking into.

18. Apply For a Job

If you are looking for work, look on Facebook. Facebook has their own job board to help you find a new job. Local companies will advertise open positions here, and you can find full-time and part-time positions for many occupations.

How Much Can You Make?

This will depend, of course, on what type of job you land.

19. Facebook Ads

You have seen these ads when you are browsing Facebook. They are the little banners on the right side of the page and the sponsored ads that appear on your newsfeed.

The reason you see these is that Facebook keeps track of what you browse online, so that ads that appear are something you might be interested in and you’re more likely to click and even buy the product.

If you have a business that is established, you may want to consider buying some ads to promote your business. Yes, you will be investing some money into your business, but this is likely to pay off since your ads will now be seen by others.

How Much Can You Make?

How much you make will depend on how many ads you buy and how they reach potential customers. You could potentially make a good income with Facebook ads.

20. Grow your friends to grow your income.

With over a billion users, Facebook offers an unlimited amount of people to connect with if you have the time and energy to do so. Facebook’s Graph Search shows you how to reach out and build your network.

Building your network is beneficial to you and your business because the more people you have them on your friends list, the more people you can reach.

How Much Can You Make?

This will depend on your business and how many people you can reach. The more people you have on your friends list, the more money making opportunities you will have.
