According to statistics, the amount women spend on cosmetics each year is around $426 billion (and that study was in 2013!).

So, what’s the solution? Obviously, we need our beauty products, so are we just going to keep spending loads of money on them every year?

There’s another option here: getting beauty products for free! Yes, for free. In my own search for free or discounted beauty products, I have found 50 places and ways to get free beauty products with minimal work involved.

Whether you’re looking for eyeshadow or nail polish, check out these makeup brands that give free samples.

1. Aveda

Surely you have heard of Aveda. They are a pretty generous company, and they are always giving out free cosmetic samples in their stores.

In some stores, Aveda gives out a free personalized 20-minute facial and a free full makeup application.

As far as online customers, Aveda offers a range of free sample deals, which you can find here.

These deals change frequently, so make sure you check back on a regular basis!

2. Kiehl’s

Kiehl’s specialty is skincare and haircare products, from anti-aging creams to conditioner. If you need to stock up on these items, shop at Kiehl’s, and you’ll get three free samples with your purchase.

What’s cool is they don’t send you random samples like some companies do; you get to choose your samples from this page. Hair treatments, anti-aging serum, face wash—these are just some of the free products that Kiehl offers.

3. Elf Cosmetics

Elf offers both makeup and skincare products, ranging from eye shadow to facial moisturizer.

You can get free beauty products through their website when you spend a certain amount, and that amount varies.

Estee Lauder is one of the most well-known beauty companies in the world. They also offer a nice selection of free beauty samples and full-sized products!

Smashbox sells a wide range of makeup products, from eyeshadows to lipsticks.

CVS is seriously one of my favorite places to buy beauty products. What I didn’t know about CVS is that you can get a free deluxe sample from CVS when buy $15 or more of beauty products.

Or, if you’re like me and prefer to shop online, you can get some free beauty products from their website. Nordstrom lets you add three free samples to your order when you check out.

Target Sample Spot gives away free beauty samples and offers plenty of other money saving deals.

Check out the Target Sample Spot here and search “beauty.” Here you will find categories ranging from skin care to cosmetics.

14. Free Mania

On Free Mania, you can find a wide variety of free beauty products like well-known brands such as Aveda, L’Oréal, Garnier, and Lancôme.

The site updates frequently, so, check out the cosmetics page often for new deals.

Also, you will want to join the join the Free Mania Cosmetics Email Club to get offers sent straight to your email.

15. My Free Product Samples

My Free Product Samples is an excellent resource for free beauty products.

The site has a section just for beauty samples, where you can find free products from brands like Cover Girl and Maybelline.

All Free Samples is another website with a section just for beauty products.

The website provides you with a list of free cosmetic samples from well-known brands, like L’Oréal, MAC and Cover Girl.

17. Hunt4Freebies

Hunt4Freebies gathers free samples and full-sized products, including beauty products.

On the site’s beauty section, you can find free sample opportunities for well-known brands like L’Oréal. Right now they are offering a free sample of SkinCeuticals Serum.

18. Free Stuff Finder

Free Stuff Finder is another great freebie website for beauty products as well as other products.

The site has three sections for beauty freebies: skincare products, hair products, and makeup.

On these pages, you can find free cosmetics products from brands like Garnier, TRESemmé, Maybelline and Rimmel.

19.  Swagabble

Swagabble is website that allows you to try their beauty products for free.

The website matches companies who are launching new products with people who want to try new products and give feedback on them.

The website is very user-friendly. All you do is click on which products you are interested in trying, and click the “want it” button.

Once you’ve signed up and listed the products you want to try, you will be sent an email with an invitation to try the products.

Swaggable says to accept your invite ASAP since samples are limited. After you accept your invite, they will ship your products.

You’ll then need to write a review and post it through the Swaggable platform. It’s as easy as that!

20. Smiley 360

Smiley 360 is another website will send you free beauty samples for your review.

This website works a little differently.  In order to earn to earn free products to review, you must complete “missions” on the website. To complete “missions,” you need to earn points.

You earn points by filling out your profile and taking surveys.

Once you earn enough points, Smiley 360 will email you opportunities for free product reviews.

21. L’Oréal Advanced Haircare Products

I love L’Oréal products, so I was thrilled to find this opportunity. You can get a free sample product from L’Oréal’s Advanced Haircare range.

Simply visit this page, select your hair type and then follow the instructions, and you will be sent a free haircare product!

22. L’Oréal Age Perfect Hydra-Nutrition Skincare

Speaking of L’Oréal, they also offer free samples of anti-aging products from the L’Oréal Age Perfect Hydra-Nutrition Skincare range.

All you have to do is visit this page and follow the instructions, and they will send you a free sample of their product.

23. In-Shower Nivea Body Lotion

Nivea is another great brand of beauty products, and they are offering a free sample of Nivea’s In-Shower Body Lotion here.

You can choose the In-Shower Cocoa Butter Body Lotion or the Nourishing In-Shower Body Lotion.

24. Redbookmag.com

You have probably read the popular magazine, Redbook, but did you know they give out free beauty products?

All you have to do is join the Club Red in order to receive free samples for review as well as the chance to win prizes.

To sign up, you log into the site, and you will be directed to a short survey on your interests. After filling in the form, simply click on the button, “Get me free stuff” and add your email address, and you will be sent deals and offers.

25. Honest Company

With Honest Company, you will pay $5.95 for shipping and you will have seven days to cancel before you’re automatically enrolled in the Honest Beauty monthly subscription ($50/month).

This is still a good deal though, because the value of the products they send you covers the $5.95 you’ll pay in shipping. Just make sure you cancel before the seven-day period.

26. Walmart’s Beauty Box

This was an opportunity that I had never heard of, but I ended up signing up for it!

All you do is pay $5 in shipping and according to the website, four times per year, you’ll receive an assortment of new beauty products and helpful tips – delivered right to your door.

You will need to cancel if you decide not to continue your subscription, and you can cancel anytime.

27. L’Occitane

This French beauty company is known for its balms and oils and organic lotions all of which smell wonderful The products can be pretty pricey, but L’Occitane always offers free samples and gifts.

This brand usually offers free beauty sets with a minimum spend and three samples at checkout.

Also, make sure you check RetailMeNot for the latest L’Occitane deals.

28. Paula’s Choice Skincare

Paula’s Choice Skincare is a skincare company that prides itself on producing fragrance-free products that are scientifically proven to work.

From anti-aging serums and lotion to clay masks, you can find some wonderful products on this site. What’s great is that you can add three free samples to any purchase you make.

Go Freebies is a great place to look for free items, including beauty samples, because this website takes deals around the internet and compiles them into one place.

If you search “health/beauty,” you will see the free beauty product samples and full-sized products, from some big name brands like Nivea and Pantene. This is one of my favorite sites because it has a little bit of everything!

31. Freaky Freddie’s Free Funhouse

Don’t let the name of this website turn you away. There are some legit free samples and full-sized products at the Funhouse!

The website has a beauty section where you can request free samples of beauty products.

32. BzzAgent

BzzAgent is a word of mouth product marketing website. This website will send out free products, including beauty products, for you to review.

When you sign up, you will complete a short survey so the site can match you with the right products.

Once the site has matched you with a product, you will be sent a product to review.

You will use the products, and then post them on your blog. If you don’t have a blog, you can use another social media platform like Facebook.

33.  She Speaks

She Speaks is pretty unique. It is a website a platform where women can read blogs, share reviews, read opinions, and participate in product testing.

Joining the site is simple – you just need to fill out your basic info and answer some questions so that the site can match you with the right products.

34. Tomoson

On Tomoson, companies post the products that they want reviews for, along with a list of requirements.

Just scroll through the health and beauty products and apply to review the products you are interested in.

Once you receive the product, you will use it, and then review it. You will either post the review on your blog or on a social media platform.

35. Mineral Hygienics Foundation

Mineral Hygienics has really great makeup, especially foundation. New customers can get two foundation samples for free from this company.

All you need to do is visit this page, let them know what your skin shade is, and then fill out a few other details about your skin. They will then send you your free samples!

36.  Snag Free Samples

Snag Free Samples is a site that offers free beauty samples and tips.

They have free samples of the day listed, and all you do is press the button “snag this.”

You will fill out your name and address, and they will send you a free sample. There is no product review necessary!

37. Allurebeautyenthusiasts.com

Allure Beauty Enthusiasts is a website where members earn free samples of beauty products for filling out surveys.

The surveys are about make-up and beauty products.

Allure Beauty Enthusiasts membership is currently only available to those in the United States.

38. Glamspotters.com

With Glamour Magazine’s Glamspotters, there is a pretty long survey you need to complete to register on the website. This survey asks about how much you know about Glamour Magazine.

Once you are registered, you will be able to complete other surveys where you can earn prizes and offers.

You can also sign up to receive offers and deals by email.

39. Everydayminerals.com

Everyday Minerals offers five free custom eyeshadows, and you only need to pay for the brush and shipping.

There are some great shades to choose from, and this is a must-try for the beauty enthusiast.

Influenster is quick and easy to join –you just fill out a simple online registration, confirm your email, and then you will receive newsletters and offers via email including prizes and samples.

What’s cool about Influenster is that it is also an online magazine and features lots of articles and tips on beauty related topics.

My Savings sends you daily free sample offers to your email, some of these are beauty related.

Once you are registered, you’ll receive daily emails from the site with news, reviews and, of course, those free make-up samples.

42. Facebook

No, that wasn’t a typo! You can get free beauty samples from the popular social media site just by searching “free makeup” in the search bar.

You will see a ton pages and groups such as the Free Beauty Samples page. Simply like the page to receive beauty offers and freebies on your Facebook feed.

43. The Body Shop

On The Body Shop’s site, you get a free sample with every purchase, but you can also snag any of their samples for just $1 with no additional purchase.

The Oils of Life Intensely Revitalizing Sleeping Cream is wonderful.

44. Rite Aid

Like CVS, Rite Aid loves giving their customers freebies.

There are tons of online deals that can save you tons of money and give you free products, including beauty products.

You will need to sign up for a Plenti Rewards card, which you can get for in-store or online. Trust me, it is worth it! You will save plenty of money.

45. Biossance Oils

Biossance is a great skincare company that offers two free sample products.

When you sign up, you will get two of its most popular oils: Squalene Oil and Squalene + Vitamin C Rose Oil.

Dove is a well-known skin care company.

Garnier hair care products are simply wonderful. They make your hair soft and shiny, and they smell great!

Sign up for The Pink Panel, and then follow them on Facebook. You’ll soon start to receive emails with testing opportunities. Products include skincare products, facial cleansing brushes, and even bigger products like hair straighteners.

The Pink Panel is awesome because you will receive free products, but you will also be rewarded $25-$100 in gift certificates or beauty products after you review the products you receive!

50. Reach Out to Companies

If you love a company, write to them, or post on their social media site, and tell them how much you love their products, and what works best for you.

More than likely, they will appreciate your comments and they will send you some samples, a gift certificate, or coupons.
