Did you know that you can actually get paid for simply driving your car? Sound too good to be true? Well, it’s true!

This does not even include driving a Taxi or for Uber. It does not include using your car to make any sort of delivery, either.

All you have to do is drive! Here’s how it works:

Surely you have seen those cars and trucks with Monster or Red Bull energy drink advertisements all over them. You may have wondered how that happened, or you may have been inspired by the advertisement and went to the gas station to pick up a refreshing Red Bull.

It’s called car wrapping. And anyone can do it to make money.

All you really need is a list of companies that will pay you to wrap your car, and I have that information for you! Just keep reading…

Background on Car Wrapping

Wrap advertising or a vehicle wrap actually started 1920s with putting vinyl decals on taxis.

However, the company, Pepsi was the very first company that used car wrapping. Wrapping cars allowed them to advertise their product to a plethora of people.

It was then that more companies began adopting the advertisement tactic of car wrapping. After all, it allows them to advertise their product 24/7 to hundreds of thousands of people.

So, How Does Car Wrapping Work?

Here’s how this process works: companies go through car wrapping companies to find willing drivers.

These companies advertise other companies that specialize in car wrapping.

If you interested in having your vehicle wrapped, you sign up with one of these advertising agencies.

The first step is giving information about your car and daily driving patterns. These companies want to know the type of vehicle you drive, your daily commute route, and how many hours a day you spend driving.

This is the necessary information that advertisers have to consider in order to find a driver that can actually get the advertisements out to enough people. If you don’t drive much, you may not be eligible for car wrapping.

After you fill out your application, you will be accepted and your information will be entered into their databases. When an ad comes along that matches your profile, you will be contacted.

They will give you the details of the steps you need to take, the pay, etc.

To get the ad on the car, auto wrap is used. The material is typically vinyl decal, but it actually looks like paintwork is applied to the car.

Depending on the advertisement, the vinyl may cover part of all of your vehicle.

How much can you make?

How much you make from car wrapping depends on different factors like the kind of car you drive, your daily driving habits, the routes where you drive each day, and whether the ad covers the whole car or just a small part.

Generally, you can expect to earn between $200 to $1000 a month for each car wrap!

That’s pretty easy money considering all you have to drive like you normally would.

Can I rent a car to use?

Let’s say you don’t want to wrap your car, but you are still interested in this opportunity. Sometimes, companies will actually give you an already wrapped car for free, which is known as the free car promotion.

In these circumstances, the company will rent a car, wrap it, and give it you for free under certain conditions (like, you need to drive X number of hours a day).

This option is not available with all companies, but it is still worth checking out if you don’t want to use your own car.

What are the Requirements?

Generally, companies look for specific kind of cars and people who commute several hours a day on busy routes.

With this said, where you live and drive a huge part in whether or not you can get in on this opportunity.

There are also a few other criteria that usually companies require:

  • You have to be 18 years or older.
  • You must have a clean driving record.
  • You must have a car insurance.
  • Your car must be kept clean and be undamaged in any way
  • You have to agree to keep the ad on your car for the entire duration of the contract.
  • There may be a minimum millage you have to drive each week/month.
  • You have to either have a GPS or agree to install one provided by the company so they can keep track of your driving.

You will always be notified of any and all requirements before you are given the assignment.

Get Paid to Drive scams

Like most industries, car wrapping one is also full of scammers.

Make sure you are aware of them, so you don’t lose your money or time.

One of the most common is the Western Union Check scam.

With this scam, you may see an advertisement that claims to be a legitimate car wrapping company, and that you will make a couple of hundred bucks by agreeing to wrap your car with an ad.

They then send you a check which is for more than the original offer.

They then ask you to deposit the check by keeping some of it to yourself and then wiring another amount (let’s say, $300 to their company).

A few days or so after you wire the money, the check bounces.

But the $300 you wired came from your account, not the bounced check. You lose $300.

These scammers use the term “ad campaign” and claim that they work for big companies like Red Bull, Monster, etc.

In fact, there is one known as the “Red Bull Job Offer” where scammers send you a $1500 check. They then ask you to deposit and wire $500 to a decal wrapping company so they can come to your house and wrap your car with Red Bull decals.

Except it’s all a scam. You will end up losing $500 from your own bank account.

Some of the current scam “ad campaigns” include “Get Paid to Drive Concept by Miller Lite Beer” and “Paid To Drive Concept By Tropicana Orange Juice.”

The bottom line is you must be aware of these scams and know how to protect yourself against them.

Here’s a hint…

The Federal Trade Commission states:

If you get a message urging you to deposit a check and wire money back, it’s a scam. Every time. No matter the story. And if this were a legitimate car wrap opportunity, wouldn’t the company directly pay the car-wrapping vendor, instead of asking you to do it?

Legitimate companies will meet the following guidelines:

  • They don’t charge a fee
  • They cover the wrapping cost
  • They have minimum requirements
  • You must have car insurance
  • They have a customer service line
